Alumni Association

The SBVR Degree College Aided Old Students Association is a registered body bearing Registration No. 166 of 2014. Its registered address is S.B.V.R. Degree College, Badvel. The Association provides a formal platform through which former students remain connected with their alma mater and contribute to the continued development of the institution. It reflects the strong and enduring bond between the college and the generations of students who have studied on its campus.

The Association works to promote fellowship among alumni and to encourage their meaningful participation in the academic and developmental activities of the college. Alumni are valuable ambassadors of the institution, carrying forward its values, learning, and reputation in their personal, professional, and social lives. Their continued association with the college inspires present students and strengthens the institution’s relationship with the wider community.

30 June is observed every year as Alumni Day. On this occasion, old students are invited to reconnect with the college, meet their former teachers and classmates, and share memories of their student life. Alumni Day also provides an opportunity for former students to learn about the progress and recent activities of the institution. Their presence and participation make the occasion meaningful for current students, faculty members, and the college administration.

The Association has been provided with a dedicated room on the college campus to facilitate its meetings, discussions, record maintenance, and other activities. This space enables the Association to function in an organised manner and serves as a point of contact for alumni who wish to engage with the institution. It also supports the planning of Alumni Day celebrations, alumni–student interaction programmes, and other activities undertaken for the benefit of students and the college.

The Principal of S.B.V.R. Degree College serves as the President of the Alumni Association. The Secretary and Treasurer are elected for a term of five years, ensuring continuity and effective administration. In the elections held in 2025, Dr. G. Raveendra Reddy was elected Secretary and Mr. R. Prem Kumar was elected Treasurer. The office-bearers coordinate the activities of the Association, maintain communication with alumni, and encourage their participation in the development of the college.

Alumni contribute to the Association through cash donations and by donating useful items. These contributions are utilised for the development of the college and for purchasing essential resources that benefit students. Such support helps strengthen student facilities, improve the learning environment, and meet important institutional requirements. The Association ensures that alumni contributions are directed towards meaningful purposes that support the academic and welfare needs of present students.

The old students of the college regularly interact with current students and share their professional and personal experiences. They speak about their academic journey, career paths, challenges, achievements, and the ways in which the education, guidance, discipline, and values received at S.B.V.R. Degree College helped shape their lives. These interactions offer students practical insights into career planning, workplace expectations, higher education, and self-development.

Alumni–student interactions are highly motivating for present students. By listening to the experiences of successful former students, they gain confidence, develop a positive outlook, and understand the importance of hard work, communication skills, discipline, and continuous learning. The Alumni Association thus plays an important role in strengthening institutional development, supporting student growth, and preserving the lifelong relationship between S.B.V.R. Degree College, Badvel, and its alumni.
